It was one of life’s great tragedies that The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ saw a release on Nintendo Switch in the US but nowhere else back in March, shortly after the launch of the Nintendo Switch. If you, like many others, have been after a copy, here’s a quick rundown of the best places to pick up a copy without paying import customs charges.
Now, keep in mind that The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ is due for a proper UK and Europe release on June 28th, 2017, so while it’s not available right now, it will be coming. No price has been set for the UK edition, but given the price that the US version launched at, odds are good that we’ll be seeing a £40-£45 price tag when it does finally launch. If you absolutely can’t wait to play, you don’t have to wait that long thanks to the fact that the Nintendo Switch console is region-free.
Currently, the best price we’ve seen for a physical copy of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on Nintendo Switch in the UK is to import the US edition from Base, where you can grab it for £29.99 with free shipping. It’s in stock now and you won’t be stung by any customs charges since Base’s warehouse is based (ha) in the UK.
Alternatively, you can pick the game up straight from Amazon UK, but you’ll be paying a premium from various Amazon Marketplace sellers for the privilege. At the time of writing, you can get one with Prime shipping for £48.49.
That all being said, if you find that you can actually wait until June 28th for the game, you’ll be saving some cash by going for the UK edition. It’s currently up for pre-order for £32.85 from SimplyGames
