Amazon has revealed that their annual membership sale, Amazon Prime Day, will be taking place later than normal this year on the 13th-14th October.
The event was delayed as a result of COVID-19 from its usual summertime spot, but Amazon has ensured it’s going ahead regardless, bringing a wealth of deals to Prime members across the globe. This includes Brazil and Turkey, which are participating for the first time in Amazon Prime Day this year.
Amazon Prime Day is the online retailer’s answer to events like Black Friday or the January Sales, wherein Amazon Prime subscribers have access to thousands of discounts across the site. In fact, Amazon has said that the 48-hour event will include “over one million deals across every category.” This also applies to those who are participating in a free trial of Amazon Prime, meaning that you could sign up for the free trial and get all those better deals before quickly cancelling – but nobody does that with subscription services, right?
There’s already been an indication from Amazon what brands will be discounted, including “Philips, Toshiba, NESCAFÉ, LEGO, Nintendo, Shark, Samsung, Under Armour, Sony, Le Creuset and many more”. This means that if you’ve been looking to get a Nintendo Switch or Lego Mario Set, mid-October could be an excellent time to do just that.
Notably, Amazon has also begun a special “Spend $10, get $10” program, wherein Prime members who spend $10 on small businesses before Prime Day begins will get $10 credit back to spend during Prime Day itself, which can be used on “almost any product”. They’re also starting discounts early on many Amazon products and services, including discounts on Echo Dots, Fire TV, Amazon Music, Audible and many others.
If you haven’t got Prime already and are interested in doing so in preparation for the event, you can check it out here. It costs just £7.99 a month, or you can always get the 30-day free trial if you haven’t already!
