If you want to play with friends online with your Switch, you’re going to want to pick up a Nintendo Switch headset! The Switch is sort of strange in that there’s no easy way to party up, but some titles like Fortnite support in-game chat. Others, like Splatoon 2, support the Switch Online mobile app, which you probably forgot existed. But no matter what you’re doing, if you want to communicate with the squad, you’ll need a headset to talk to them. Here are some of the best!
Once you’ve had a browse through these, do take a look at our other picks for the best Nintendo Switch accessories to ensure you’ve got everything you need for your console and see what the latest Nintendo Switch deals are right now!

PDP LVL40 Wired Stereo Headset
If you want something that’s guaranteed to work, then you might as well go with the official Nintendo Switch headset! Nintendo officially licenses the PDP LVL40 Wired Headset, and it has the looks to match your handheld. The LVL40 is a lightweight headset, making it easy to carry with you and store. The headset is overall simple, but not only does it get the job done, but it’s affordable, too.
Oddly enough, only the Red/Blue colour is available in the US, while both Red/Blue and Black are available in the UK.

SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless
If you want to go wireless and get the best experience possible, then you’ll want to pick up the SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless! SteelSeries makes great gaming headsets, and you won’t be disappointed with this headset. You’ll get great sound quality and a detachable mic, so you can use the Arctis 1 solely as a really nice pair of headphones. When it’s time to party up, just pop the mic back in!
The Switch can be annoying in that to use a wireless headset, you’ll need a Bluetooth dongle to plug into your system. Thankfully, SteelSeries thought ahead and they include a dongle in the box so the Arctis 1 can be used as a Nintendo Switch headset. That’s pretty great!
Turtle Beach Recon 70 Series
Turtle Beach is probably a name you’ve heard before, and for a good reason–they’ve made affordable wired headsets for years. The Turtle Beach Recon 70 Series all work with the Nintendo Switch and provide a comfortable fit and 40mm sound. All of the Recon 70 headsets will work with the Switch–the only difference between the various models is the colour!
If your child is the one with the Switch, or they’re using yours, they’ll need their own headset. Adult headsets don’t exactly fit! BlueFire makes some great gaming headsets in blue, green, and pink. These are no slouches, either. There’s a 50mm driver in there!
You may see Razer and think that they’re mostly a PC and mobile accessory manufacturer. You’d be right, but that doesn’t mean their headsets don’t work with the Switch! The Razer Kraken is Razer’s best headset, and the wired one plugs into the Switch just fine. With good audio, in-line controls, and even an indent for glasses (thank goodness), the Kraken is one of the best headsets in general, let alone for the Switch.
The Quartz headset looks great, too, I must say.
Those are just a few of our picks for the best Nintendo Switch headset. If you’re planning to take the console on the go with you, be sure to keep it safe with a Nintendo Switch case and screen protector for Nintendo Switch. And ensure you’ll never run out of juice with a cheap Nintendo Switch power bank.
