New Pokemon Snap looks great, but those that played the N64 original might be missing something about the older title–being able to print your pictures out! Thankfully, Fujifilm has a solution with some new functionality with their Instax Mini Link.
The Instax Mini Link isn’t a new product–it has been printing Polaroid-style pictures from smartphones for a while now. But now, Fujifilm is partnering with Nintendo to make it easy to print screenshots with the Mini Link, just in time for New Pokemon Snap’s release.
The Instax Mini Link app for Nintendo Switch will be releasing April 30th, and all you’ll need to do is send your screenshots from your Switch over to your phone, adjust them in the app, and print them out! You’ll be able to relive your childhood days of printing out your Snap pictures… without going outside to whatever the modern-day Blockbuster would be.
There will also be a special edition of the Instax Mini Link with a Pikachu silicone slipcase and some film. It won’t be released until May, but if you want the Pokemon-themed set, it will cost $120. Since it comes with some printer film, it’s not all that bad of a deal.
But you don’t have to wait for the special edition set–you can go ahead and scoop up your printer now. It’s not only something you’d use with the Switch, after all! Which is good, as the Instax Mini Link retails for $99.99/£109.99. That’d be a pricey Switch accessory if you couldn’t use it with anything else! But, you can also print out your favorite pictures right from your smartphone and always have them available. If you’re a big picture person, you’ll get your money’s worth out of this fast.
