The best Resident Evil gifts and merch you can buy in 2021

If you managed to wrap your hands around the Resident Evil Village demo – all thirty glorious minutes of it – then like us, you’ve probably been left wanting more. Much more. Well, how about some of the weirdest, wildest and best Resident Evil gifts and merch you can buy right now?

From everything we’ve experienced so far, Resident Evil Village is shaping up to be something incredibly special; all of the things we loved about Resident Evil 7 soaking up the deliciously dread atmosphere of Resident Evil 4, complete with its very own version of the merchant (The Duke) thrown in for good measure.

While we don’t have to wait much longer until we can step inside the castle on the village’s outskirts and get our next Resident Evil fix, our initial experience of Resident Evil Village has left us itching for more Resi goodness. To satisfy those zombie content cravings, we’ve compiled a mammoth gift guide covering some of the best buys from the Resident Evil universe.

Resident Evil Tubbz ducks

Resident Evil Tofu Tubbz Duck

Fancy taking a bath with the Nemesis? Now you can, thanks to the guys at Tubbz. If you’re not familiar with the brand, they make rubber ducks using licensed characters from your favourite video games and movies. The Resident Evil ones include Nemesis, Ada Wong, Hunk, The Merchant and more. Our favourite is Tofu from Resident Evil 2, just because Tubbz has gone through the effort to turn a block of tofu into a rubber duck. It’s even carrying the iconic knife.

Resident Evil collectables

Resident Evil Coins

The Resident Evil series is known for its intricate puzzles, which usually involve searching for weirdly shaped keys, pendants or emblems. Zavvi has some great limited edition collectables you can get your hands on, many of which have been designed to look like in-game items, such as this limited edition Maiden medallion from Resident Evil 2 and this limited edition coin from Resident Evil 3.

Resident Evil mugs and drink coasters

If you’re familiar with the office environment, you’ll recognise the importance of having your own special mug, and nothing says ‘you’re special’ to a Resident Evil fan like giving them their own S.T.A.R.S mug.

Barry Burton wouldn’t have any time for nasty marks on desks or tables, and neither should you, which is why you should consider this pack of Resident Evil themed coasters which contains four coasters featuring designs from the game.

Resident Evil live-action and CGI films

Resident Evil CGI movies

There’s a lot more for Resident Evil fans to look forward to than just Village, too. It won’t be much longer until we’re able to watch the live-action series on Netflix, which will reportedly follow the plot of the games much closer than the previous films. We’re also getting another.

That’s not to say that the films are bad, they’re just a bit… different. If you haven’t watched them yet, or fancy diving into the boxset again ahead of the next CGI instalment, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, you can grab the first six films on blu-ray in the complete collection, or the first 3 CGI films in the CG movie collection.

Resident Evil soundtrack vinyl records

Resident Evil vinyl records

If you’re a record collector as well as a Resident Evil fan, you’ll be pleased to know that the soundtracks from every entry in the mainline series have been pressed onto vinyl, courtesy of Laced Records. Previously, the only way to listen to the music in the games was to play through them or find a playlist on YouTube. Now you can listen to them in the highest quality imaginable. Laced Records has, quite literally, brought this music back from the dead.

Resident Evil books

Itchy Tasty Resident Evil book

From crash landing in the Arklay mountains to falcon punching the series’ protagonist into a volcano, the Resident Evil series has some pretty fascinating lore. But it’s the story of its development – how a team of newbies pioneered the survival horror genre and created one of the most successful game franchises of all time – which is most interesting.

Industry expert, Alex Aniel, spent two years interviewing former key members of Capcom staff to learn more about the roots of the history and how Resident Evil was created. The end result is his book, Itchy, Tasty: An Unofficial History of Resident Evil. It’s a must-have Resident Evil gift for any fan.

Resident Evil 7 was a huge hit with fans, moving the series away from its action focus and back to its survival horror roots. Creating and producing the game wasn’t without its challenges, which are documented in great detail in this 152-page art book. Crammed full of previously unreleased concept art, a storyboard collection of in-game scenes and interviews with the game’s developers, this needs to be on your coffee table.

Resident Evil plush toys

Resident Evil Nemesis plush

We never thought we’d say this, but the Nemesis from Resident Evil 3 looks kinda cute when he’s turned into a soft toy? Gaya’s built a solid reputation for officially licensing video game characters and turning them into soft toys, and this 20cm Nemesis one is probably our favourite.

Resident Evil: The Board Game

Resident Evil the board game

If you’re looking for an excuse to get away from your TV screen, this Resident Evil 2 board game could be the perfect solution. It’s an officially licensed, co-op board game, featuring characters and scenarios from the series. It’ll keep you entertained for hours, especially as you can buy a variety of expansion packs once you’ve played through the original game a couple of times.

Resident Evil Village Collector’s Edition

Resident Evil 3 Collector's Edition

The release of Resident Evil Village is now less than a month away, and while most collector’s edition variants of the game are sold out, GAME still has a couple in stock for people in the UK.

The collector’s edition of the game includes a Chris Redfield figure, an art print and steelbook, an official artbook, a cloth map of the game’s layout, and a downloadable code for the DLC Trauma Pack. All of this is housed in a massive collector’s box reminiscent of the game’s item chests that’ll be a great gift for the most ardent Resident Evil superfan.

Resident Evil cosplay, clothing and accessories

Lady Dimitrescu Resident Evil

While there’s still a way to go until we bring out the horror board games or multiplayer horror games for Halloween, we’ll take any excuse we can get for dressing up as Resident Evil characters.

Most cosplayers will probably make their own nerdy Halloween costumes, but if you fancy strolling the streets as Leon Kennedy or Ada Wong, there’s a decent selection of cosplay outfits on Amazon that aren’t that bad. You can even dress up as the tall one, Lady Dimitrescu, if you fancy it.
