Loki Disney Plus: When does it start and how to watch the new Marvel series

The highly anticipated Loki series will be landing on Disney Plus this week and it’s the perfect time to sign up to the streaming service if you want to satiate your Marvel fill this summer.

The Disney+ Original series sees Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as the cunning trickster, Loki, alongside an awesome cast including Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant.

While the plot has been kept mostly under wraps, we know the show will be set after the God of Mischief steals the Tesseract in Avengers: Endgame. The series will also introduce fans to the concept of the multiverse and is also expected to tie-in with the upcoming Marvel movie, Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.

Head writer, Michael Waldron has also confirmed the show will have a big impact on the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Speaking to Total Film, Waldron commented: “All of these stories, in their own way, are interconnected, and have ramifications. I think that certainly our aim with the Loki series was for it to have wide-reaching ramifications across the MCU moving forward”.

Here’s all you need to know about when the Loki show starts and how to watch it.

When is Loki coming out on Disney Plus?

With much delight to fans, Marvel recently announced the start date had been brought forward from its original release date of June 11, 2021.

Loki will now be available to stream tomorrow (June 9, 2021) on Disney+ and will consist of six episodes. New episodes will be released weekly on Wednesdays, a change from the Friday release we saw for Wandavision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. The finale episode is expected to air on July 14.

Although we don’t have a confirmed release time, Disney+ normally launches new content at 7am GMT (12am EST/ 3am PST), so we can only assume this will be the case for Loki.
