There’s less than one week to go until this year’s Amazon Prime Day sale (June 21–22) begins. But if you want to get your hands on some bargains before then, the latest early Prime Day deals include some impressive discounts on Amazon Ring doorbells, cameras and other smart home accessories.
Like all of the early Prime Day deals we’ve seen so far, you’ll need a Prime membership to take advantage of these discounts. With that in mind, let’s start with the best deal of that lot: a 42 per cent saving on the Ring video doorbell and chime, now just £45.
Amazon Ring 1080p video doorbell
If you’d prefer to see who’s at the front door without getting up from the couch, or simply keep tabs on who’s visiting while you’re out, the Ring video doorbell is what you need.
It’s got a 1080p HD camera with two-way talk and advanced motion detection, so you can set up alerts that notify you when someone’s approaching your door.
Like most Amazon smart home accessories, you can connect it to your phone or any other compatible devices. If you’d prefer a more old-school approach, the chime can be plugged into a plug socket and sounds like a normal doorbell once it’s connected to the Ring.
You can also purchase the Ring video doorbell without the charm for £35. Both products include a 30-day trial of the Ring Protect plan, which allows you to record and share video footage.
- Amazon Ring video doorbell and chime for £45 from Amazon
- Amazon Ring video doorbell (no chime) for £35 from Amazon
Ring HD spotlight camera
Usually £179.99, the 34% discount for Prime members on the Ring spotlight camera brings this all the way down to £119
You can set up notifications through your phone or compatible Alexa devices as soon as the 1080p HD camera picks up motion. It features infrared night vision and a live view with real-time video too, so you can constantly monitor what’s happening around your home.
There are two versions of this: the wired camera and the battery-powered camera. Both are the same price, and if you don’t feel confident enough to install the camera(s) yourself, you can pay £120 per unit for an Amazon expert to install them.
Amazon eero Wi-Fi systems, routers and extenders
Struggling with weak Wi-Fi connectivity in certain parts of your home or workplace? The Amazon eero might be the answer you’re looking for, and you can save up to 35% on routers and extenders with these early Prime Day deals.
If you’re not familiar with eero, it’s a home Wi-Fi system featuring an eero router and extenders to improve signal strength. You can use the eero signal extenders with your normal router, or you can ditch your router and opt for a new eero router instead.
The eero extenders work by essentially bouncing the signal strength from one another. The basic eero models have a signal strength of 140m² per module, while the pro increases this to 160m².
Installing and setting up the eero system is pretty simple. All you’ll need to do is download the eero app for iOS or Android and follow the set-up instructions.
From the app, you can check which devices are connected to the internet and even pause connections if you need to. And as the system improves over time, you’ll get active security alerts about any possible malware attempts or network attacks.
If you’ve got Alexa devices, video game consoles or other devices in your home that are struggling with internet access due to their distance from your router, you can solve that by grabbing an eero extender or router from the links below.
